Pitcher Care & Maintenance

Your WPM milk pitcher is designed for everyday use. With proper cleaning and care, you can maintain its appearance, performance and longevity.

Follow these simple care guidelines to keep your pitcher in good condition.

Daily Cleaning

Milk residue can build up on the interior of your pitcher over time. Milk contains fats, proteins and sugars that may be difficult to remove with water alone. If left uncleaned, these residues can harden and become increasingly difficult to remove.

We recommend following these cleaning practices after every shift:

1. Wash with Soap and Warm Water

Clean your pitcher using warm water and mild dishwashing soap. Pay particular attention to the interior, where milk residue is most likely to accumulate. Soap helps remove milk fats and proteins more effectively than rinsing with water alone.

2. Rinse Thoroughly

Rinse away all soap and milk residue to ensure the pitcher is clean and ready for its next use.

3. Dry and Air Out

After washing, dry your pitcher with a clean towel. Leave it upright to air dry completely before storage.

Proper drying helps prevent water spots and reduces prolonged moisture exposure, helping to maintain the condition of the stainless steel.

Care by Finish

Different pitcher finishes require different cleaning methods. Always follow the instructions for your specific pitcher.

Brushed Steel Pitchers

Brushed steel (ST) pitchers are suitable for dishwasher cleaning.

  • Hand washing: Use warm water, mild dishwashing soap and a soft sponge.

  • Dishwasher: Safe for dishwasher use.

  • Drying: Towel dry after washing and leave upright to air dry.

Coated Pitchers

Including Colour and Film Finishes

Coated pitchers require extra care to preserve their finish and prevent peeling.

  • Hand washing: Wash using warm water, mild dishwashing soap and a soft sponge.

  • Avoid abrasive materials: Do not use scouring pads, abrasive cleaners or rough sponges, as these may damage the coating.

  • Dishwasher: Not dishwasher safe. Avoid placing coated pitchers in the dishwasher, as heat and detergents may cause the finish to peel or deteriorate.

  • Rinser compatible: Safe for use with standard pitcher rinsers.

  • Drying: Towel dry after washing and leave upright to air dry.

A Few Things to Remember

  • Clean your pitcher after every shift to prevent milk residue from building up.

  • Avoid leaving milk residue inside the pitcher for prolonged periods.

  • Always use a soft sponge when cleaning coated pitchers.

  • Dry your pitcher thoroughly before storage.

A little care goes a long way in keeping your WPM milk pitcher in great condition.
